In our first year of operation V-Racing Velenje posted a number of outstanding racing results in 2004. The most prominent achievements in 2004 were as follows:

1. National Rally Championship

- Crew Smrdelj Borut / Cjuha Aleš – Clio RS:
Rally Koper – 1st place; Rally Maribor – 2nd place; Rally Velenje – 3rd place; Rally Postojna – 3rd place. Final placement in Div. II: 2nd place; 9th place in overall standings.

- Crew Stablovnik Aleš / Stablovnik Jože – Yugo:
Maiden race – Rally Velenje; they also took part in Rally Saturnus and Rally Postojna. They successfully completed all three Rallys finishing somewhere in the middle of Division I.

We had three other V-Racing crews taking part in the Rally competition for the first time: Lenko Simon/Celcer Boštjan-Yugo, Salmič Marko/Hudej Jernej-Yugo and Strožič Mitja/Maze Janez-Ford Escort RS, who are looking forward to posting more prominent results in the coming racing season.

2. GHD (Hill Climbs)

- Smrdelj Borut – Clio Williams, Clio RS, Div.III
Visible placements at the following races: Polhov Gradec – 2nd place, Rogla – 2nd place, Ilirska Bistrica – 4th place.
Final overall placement in Div. III: 4th place.

- Merkač Franjo, Yugo, Div. I and Yugo Cup
Final overall placement in Div. I: 4th place.
Final overall placement in the Yugo Cup: outstanding 2nd place.
Visible placements at the following races: GHD Rogla – 3rd place, GHD Ferarri – 2nd place.

Our only female representative Nevenka Merkač in Fiat Seicento took part in two Hill Climb competitions and contributed a few points for the Club’s high placement in overall final standings.

3. SSJP (Seicento Siemens Junior Cup)

- Grudnik Matej
Visible placements at the following races: KHD Logatec – 2nd place, GHD Gorjanci – 3rd place, 5 times Best Rookie.
Final overall placement in SSJP: 5th place overall and 1st place in Rookie classification.

- Goltnik Dani
Visible placements at the following races: KHD Cerklje – 3rd place, GHD Polhov Gradec – 4th place, KHD Logatec – 4th place.
Final overall placement in SSJP: 10th place.

4. Karting:

-Strožič Mitja
Final overall placements:
- Sportstil Max Cup: 4th place,
- Alpe Adria Cup: outstanding 2nd place.

5. Club Results

As a club we did well at GHD Rogla (3rd place), Ilirska Bistrica (3rd place) and Polhov Gradec (3rd place); in the final GHD standings V-Racing is in excellent 5th place among 58. NTLs, and in excellent 7th place among 31 active clubs.
In final standings of the Rally competition V-Racing finished in 6th place among clubs and in 7th place among NTLs.

It is obvious that we already have a good team of drivers, however we want to make it even stronger in 2005 and are determined to perform even better in the future.
